OurGreenways –  we are committed to the protection of green ways and spaces in order to promote the physical and mental well being of the Nunthorpe community

We are a small voluntary group, established in 2018,  committed to green and healthy living issues in, and around, our community of Nunthorpe

(even though Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland Councils are responsible for the western and eastern parts respectively).

We work closely with various groups   Nunthorpe Parish CouncilNunthorpe Community Council and Ward Councillors, other community groups,  Nunthorpe and Marton Playing Fields Association and Middlesbrough Environment City

We engage, through our leadership in Middlesbrough Alternative Planning Partnership , with Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland Councils regarding better planning, consultation  and community infrastructure. We  are also closely involved in Nunthorpe Vision, and with the NPC, in the creation of a Neighbourhood Plan for all of Nunthorpe

Facebook page, and our website, other social media, have regular postings to broaden thinking about green issues, our environment, minimising pollution and littering, and overall promoting health living, in terms of the physical and mental health of our community. We have also distributed leaflets to the community to ensure those who don’t use social media, are aware of what we are trying to do

Consultation events – we have held three  – to develop plans for an interactive website, a variety of green and healthy activities and some legacy facilities for Nunthorpe

Our plans informed a bid to the Community Fund of the National Lottery and were successful in an award of just under £10,000, in 2019.

Covid – has had a huge impact upon our community and prevented us holding three activity days in partnership with our Community Council and Middlesbrough Environment City.

However, the Lottery have given us permission to revise our plans but with the same overall aims.
